FOR CLINICIANS & PRACTITIONERS

Precise data. Private cues. Your clinical judgment, unchanged.

Brooks Band™ gives occupational therapists, ABA practitioners, speech-language pathologists, and related clinicians a tool that captures objective event-level data — while your client experiences a private, discreet haptic cue. No recordings. No surveillance. No replacement for your expertise.

A flashlight, not a spotlight.

Your clients already know when they’re being watched. That awareness itself changes behavior and muddies data.

Brooks Band gives the wearer a cue only they can feel. You get the measurement; they get the moment. What you gain is clean data about what actually happens between sessions — not what happens when a clinician is watching.

The cue is for the client. The data is for the clinician. Neither requires surveillance.

Built for your practice

Occupational Therapists

  • Extend self-regulation work between sessions with a wearable cue
  • Capture observation patterns that inform sensory profiles
  • Support Ayres, SI, and self-awareness-based approaches
  • Caregiver-friendly reports for home carryover
  • Works across pediatric, school-based, and adult caseloads

ABA Practitioners (BCBA / BCaBA / RBT)

  • Antecedent-based support: a private cue before escalation, not after
  • Objective frequency, duration, and intensity data for goal tracking
  • Reduces dependence on adult-mediated prompts over time
  • Preserves learner autonomy and dignity in shared environments
  • Complements BCBA-supervised plans — does not replace clinical judgment

Speech-Language Pathologists

  • Reinforce volume-regulation goals across settings (clinic, home, school)
  • Track outcomes with measurable, time-stamped event data
  • Support pragmatic communication goals without transcribing
  • Works for clients with auditory processing differences, autism, ADHD, or selective mutism

Counselors & Mental Health Professionals

  • Supports clients working on self-regulation skills between sessions
  • Provides objective data to discuss in session without recording conversations
  • Client retains full control — can remove or disable at any time
  • Wellness framing; not diagnostic or treatment device

What you see as a clinician

Event-level observation data. Time-stamped decibel events, durations, intensity measures, and frequency trends across days, weeks, and months.

No audio content. Ever. Voice signals are processed on-device and immediately discarded. Nothing is recorded, transcribed, or archived. This isn’t a “we don’t save recordings” promise — the device is architecturally incapable of storing audio.

Exportable reports. Generate session summaries and progress snapshots that integrate into your existing documentation workflow. Data belongs to the client and the authorized clinical record, not to us.

HIPAA-aware deployment paths. By default, Brooks Band is a general wellness product. For covered entities, we can execute a Business Associate Agreement before any protected health information is processed through the platform.

Clinical and regulatory posture

General Wellness Positioning

Brooks Band is a general wellness wearable, not a medical device. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition. Clinical decisions remain with licensed professionals.

HIPAA

Not a HIPAA covered entity by default. When deployed by a covered entity in a way that creates Business Associate obligations, we execute a BAA before processing protected health information.

FERPA (School-Based)

For school-based OTs and related service providers, all student data remains under school control under a Data Processing Agreement.

IDEA

Aligns with confidentiality at 34 CFR §§ 300.610–300.626 for IEP, 504, and special education contexts.

Data Ownership

The client (or authorized adult) owns their data. Clinicians access it under appropriate authorization. We never sell or share client data.

Research Participation

Research partnerships occur only under written agreement with IRB approval where applicable. Clients, parents, and guardians may opt out at any time.
