2. Information We Collect From Children

When the Brooks Band™ is used by a child under 13, we may collect:

  • Voice volume measurements (decibel readings)
  • Event timestamps and durations
  • Wellness observation data
  • A de-identified user code (never the child's name on the device)

We do not collect audio recordings, voiceprints, photographs, or precise location data.

3. How We Use The Information

We use this information solely to:

  • Provide the Brooks Band™ wellness service to the child
  • Generate observation reports for parents, teachers, and therapists
  • Improve the device and platform

We do not use children's information for advertising, marketing, or commercial profiling.

4. Parental Rights

Parents and legal guardians have the right to:

  • Review the personal information we have collected from their child
  • Request that we delete their child's information
  • Refuse to allow us to collect any further information from their child
  • Disable any data stream at any time

To exercise these rights, email privacy@sensorybridges.com. We respond within 30 days.

5. Parental Consent

Before collecting personal information from a child under 13, we obtain verifiable parental consent — either directly from the parent or, in school deployments, through the school under COPPA's school-authorized exception. Schools may consent on behalf of parents only for educational purposes and only for the limited data needed to provide the service.

6. Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, or rent children's personal information to third parties. Information may be shared only with:

  • The school or service provider that authorized the deployment
  • Service providers under contract who help us operate the platform
  • Regulators or law enforcement when required by law

7. Data Retention

Children's information is retained only for the active service period (typically one academic year) and automatically deleted at the end of retention. Parents may request earlier deletion at any time.

8. Data Security

We protect children's information using encrypted transmission (TLS 1.3), encrypted storage (AES-256), role-based access controls, and audit logging.

9. Changes

If we materially change how we collect or use children's information, we will obtain new parental consent before applying the change to existing data.
