Sensory Bridges โ€” Voice Awareness Technology for Every Learner
Voice Awareness Wellness Technology

Helping every learner become aware of their own voice

The Brooks Band is a wearable wellness tool that provides gentle, private haptic feedback for voice volume awareness โ€” giving individuals the ability to self-regulate without constant reminders from others.

How It Works

Simple for the wearer. Powerful for the team.

The student wears a Samsung Galaxy Watch. The watch quietly observes. The team gets the data they need โ€” without interrupting the student's day.

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ

Voice Volume Awareness

The watch detects the wearer's own voice volume using on-device sound level measurement. When volume exceeds the wearer's personal range, a gentle vibration provides a private cue that only they can feel.

๐Ÿ”

Privacy by Design

No audio is ever recorded, stored, or transmitted. The watch measures sound level only โ€” like a sound level meter on the wrist. All processing happens on the device. Only wellness observations leave the watch.

๐Ÿ‘ค

Personal to Each Wearer

The device learns each wearer's own voice and personal range. Thresholds adjust to the individual โ€” not a one-size-fits-all number. The device distinguishes the wearer's voice from background sound.

๐Ÿ“Š

Observation Data for Professionals

Teachers, therapists, and families each receive the observation data relevant to their role. Event counts, timestamps, durations, and acoustic measurements โ€” everything needed for documentation.

๐Ÿซ

Built for Schools

Runs on Samsung Galaxy Watch in freestanding mode โ€” no paired phone needed. Managed and secured through enterprise device management. Designed for all-day wear in a school environment.

๐Ÿ’š

Dignity First

No public alerts. No visible signals to classmates. No adult having to say "use your inside voice" for the hundredth time. Just a quiet, private tap on the wrist that says: "hey, check your volume."

Who It's For

One device. Every person who supports the student.

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿซ

Teachers

Continuous observation data replaces manual tally sheets and memory-based documentation. Voice volume events, sustained engagement periods, and timestamps โ€” all collected automatically.

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ

Speech-Language Pathologists

Voice volume data, vocalization counts, and return-to-range measurements collected continuously during the school day โ€” not just during therapy sessions.

๐Ÿง

Occupational Therapists

Independent wellness observations across multiple streams โ€” supporting sensory and environmental documentation with continuous data instead of periodic in-room observation.

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘ง

Families

A plain-language daily summary of your child's day. No technical data โ€” just a warm, honest picture of how things went and what's getting better.

Privacy, Compliance & Policies

Privacy Policy

What is collected: Voice volume level (dB), ambient sound level (dB), event timestamps, event durations, and wellness observation labels. No audio recordings. No speech content. No words or conversation. No photographs. No location data in school deployment. All data linked to a de-identified code โ€” never a student name.

On-device processing: All raw sensor signals are processed on the watch and immediately destroyed. A 10-second rolling audio buffer continuously overwrites. No raw data is stored on the device or transmitted. Only derived observations leave the device.

Data transmission and storage: Observation data syncs via encrypted connection at end of school day on school WiFi only. Encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). No data transmitted to any cloud service, third party, or external server outside the school's platform instance.

Data retention: Data retained for the current IEP cycle (typically one academic year) and automatically purged at end of retention period. Data can be deleted at any time by the authorized adult (parent/guardian) or school administrator.

Cookies & Tracking

This website uses no cookies, no tracking pixels, no analytics scripts, and no third-party advertising code. Form submissions are processed through Airtable, which has its own privacy policy available at airtable.com/privacy. The production platform will use only essential session cookies for user authentication โ€” never advertising, tracking, or third-party analytics cookies. No data from the platform is shared with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party.

FERPA Compliance

All observation data is classified as an education record under FERPA (20 U.S.C. ยง 1232g) when used in a school setting. The school district is the data controller. Sensory Bridges operates as a "school official" under a FERPA-compliant Data Processing Agreement (DPA) with the district. Parents and eligible students retain all FERPA rights including the right to inspect, review, request amendment, and request deletion of all observation data. No data is disclosed to any third party without prior written parent consent or an applicable FERPA exception.

COPPA Compliance

Under COPPA's school exception (15 U.S.C. ยงยง 6501โ€“6506), the school may consent on behalf of the parent for collection of student data for educational purposes only. No data collected under the school exception is used for any commercial purpose. No data is shared with third parties for non-educational purposes. No persistent identifiers are collected. Parents retain the right to review, request deletion of, and refuse further collection of their child's data at any time.

Opt-Out

Any sensor stream can be independently disabled at any time by the authorized adult (parent, guardian, or school administrator). The device can be completely deactivated at any time. All data collection ceases immediately upon deactivation. Previously collected data can be deleted upon request. Contact: privacy@sensorybridges.com
