How it actually works in a classroom
1. The student wears it. The Brooks Band looks like a watch. It does one thing: delivers a gentle vibration only the wearer can feel when their voice volume rises above their personalized baseline.
2. No audio leaves the device. Voice signals are processed on-device and discarded. Only derived measurements (decibel levels, timestamps, durations) are ever saved.
3. Authorized staff can review patterns. Educators and IEP team members with proper access can view observation reports — not recordings, not transcripts. Just patterns: when, how long, how often.
4. The student builds self-awareness. Over time, the haptic cue becomes internalized. Many wearers report noticing their own volume before the cue arrives.
