FOR AGING ADULTS & HOME HEALTH

Becoming, at every stage of life.

Brooks Band™ supports the quiet work of self-awareness for adults experiencing cognitive change, sensory shifts, or the ordinary work of staying connected to themselves — with dignity, without surveillance, without recording a single conversation.

A different kind of support.

Most aging-related technology is designed to monitor — to alert someone else when something goes wrong. Brooks Band is designed to support the wearer themselves. A private haptic cue. Felt only by them. No recording. No alarm sent to family or staff. No data leaves the wrist except event-level measurements.

For an adult experiencing cognitive change, hearing loss, or the ordinary work of staying connected to their own voice, that distinction matters. The cue is for them — not for someone observing them.

Independence isn’t the absence of support. It’s the presence of dignity. — The Sensory Bridges design principle

What we measure today — and what comes next.

Today, Brooks Band measures voice volume relative to the wearer’s personalized baseline and delivers a private haptic cue. That is the entire signal path. Nothing recorded. Nothing transcribed. Nothing leaves the wrist except event-level measurements (timestamps, durations, intensity).

On the roadmap, we are exploring additional biosignals — the kinds of physiological cues that already correlate with self-regulation and well-being in the research literature — to deepen the self-awareness insights available to wearers and the people who care for them. Any expansion will follow the same posture as the current device: on-device processing, no audio recording, no biometric identifiers stored, and full opt-out at the wearer or guardian level.

For aging adults, this matters. Privacy isn’t a feature we add later. It’s the foundation we build everything on.

Privacy and dignity, in plain language

No audio recording. Not now. Not on the roadmap. Voice content is processed on-device and discarded; only volume measurements are saved.

No biometric identifiers stored. The device doesn’t learn who you are or build a profile of you. It learns your baseline and gives a cue when you’ve drifted from it.

No data sold. Ever. No advertising partners, no data brokers, no third-party trackers.

Authorized adults retain control. The wearer (or their authorized representative) can review what’s been collected, request deletion, disable data streams, or deactivate the device entirely — at any time.

Brooks Band is a wellness device, not a medical device. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition. Clinical decisions remain with qualified licensed professionals.
